If I'm looking a little flushed, it's because I had to run across Sydney's Domain to get to the launch of Jamie Durie's new paint range for Porter's Paints. The event was held at the Art Gallery of NSW and I was sure that it started at 9am. But when I double checked the invite I realised it actually started at 8.30am! Whoops. And to make matters worse, when I arrived the doors to the gallery were locked. There were members of the general public stood outside watching me knock-knocking on the door like I was some sort of crazy person trying to get into the gallery when it was clearly closed. "I'm here for the function," I said, as sanely as I could. Eventually someone let me in, and I got there just in time for the speeches. Thankfully, as it was a breakfast launch, the organisers allowed plenty of time for people to arrive. Phew! Oh, and the paint range. Beautiful! Style director Jason Grant and I helped deputy ed Natalie pick a colour for her recently bought outdoor table, which she wrote about here. She went with Blueberry Ash. A great contrast for bright yellow - we've just used a similar colour combo for a decorating feature in our June issue. Keep your eyes peeled.
